About
Alyssa Gaia Schulman is a textile & print designer.
In 2022, Alyssa received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Textiles at Parsons School of Design, launching the start of her career in fashion. With a diverse background of harmonizing traditional media with modern design techniques, her strengths lie in traditional drawing and painting, digital print design, hand- and machine-knitting, embroidery, and developing layers of visual and tangible textures to create nature-inspired pieces.
In her personal projects, Alyssa opts to exclusively work with non-animal-based materials as she believes plant-based fibers are the future of fashion and textiles, and they will help create a more sustainable system. She also believes no animals have to be harmed or exploited to produce beautiful, sustainable, accessible fashion.
Alyssa graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in June, 2018.
